Best display of Miscellaneous Flower Bulbs Keukenhof 2017

Last Thursday we received the award ‘Best display of Miscellaneous Flower Bulbs 2017for our display at the indoor flower exhibition of Miscellaneous Flower Bulbs at Keukenhof.

The Committee of Experts: “We were impressed by the large assortment of miscellaneous flower bulbs of high quality.” Of course we are very proud of this.

Valuable purchase …

Recently we have bought the botanical Tulip varieties of Jan de Winter. We think these varieties are a valuable addition to our assortment.

It concerns following varieties:

Time to harvest …

While some varieties of our miscellaneous bulbs will start to flower in August our harvest season has arrived; both of the bulbs/tubers as the seed.

* Bulbs/tubers

The foliage, from which naturalising bulbs draw their strength for the second flowering and multiplication, has been died away completely. This means that the bulbs/tubers no longer will grow and therefore can be harvest. Lees verder

3rd award for Narcissus ‘More and More’

KAVB organized one of three daffodils contests at the two-day CNB Daffodil Show at the Flora Garden in Julianadorp on April 14th and 15th this year.

“The Committee of Experts was struck by the beautiful pot Narcissus ‘More and More’, a novelty of the Nursery Schüllhorn of Anna Paulowna. This miniature daffodil was beautifully presented and was awarded with the third place. “

A new season

A new season has started. Little by little, there comes colour on the fields with flower bulbs. For about 20 weeks the flower bulbs stabbing their noses above the ground. For us the time to irrigate (in dry periods through fixed and mobile irrigation) and to follow the growth but definitely a time to enjoy! Every year a wonderful season! Lees verder

We are preparing for a new season …

All the flower bulbs have been delivered to export, trade and mail order companies (both at home and abroad). Every year we make sure that all spring-flowering naturalising bulbs are planted before 1st of November. Then they have enough time to make roots before the frost comes. Bulbs and tubers with roots better can resist the winter cold. The store rooms are only packed with flower bulbs to be planted in the spring. Lees verder

A garden under construction …

Summer 2014 we were invited by Keukenhof to come and see the new location which they thought would be great for us as a potential new exhibitor. We were very surprised by this unique and beautiful place in the park. Along with Martin Elling (new designer) we discussed the varieties and in which mixtures they would be planted. Lees verder
